Once Upon a Version has one address: contact@onceuponaversion.com. There is no form, so email is the way in. No reply time is promised.

What this address is for

Errors. If a page names the wrong teller, gives the wrong edition or first printing, misquotes a text, cites a source that does not say what the page claims, or gives a tale-type number without its classifier, please say so. Include the address of the page, the sentence in question and the source that shows the error. Accepted corrections are dated on the page and listed on the version history page.

Pictures and scans. Leads to illustrations, book pages or manuscript scans that are in the public domain in the United States, Germany and France are welcome. Please send the page where the scan is published and the rights statement it carries, so the image can be checked against the rules on Reprint rights.

Earlier or named tellings. If you know of an earlier record of a tale, or a record that names a teller where this site says unrecorded, send the bibliographic details: author, title, edition, year and page. How such leads are weighed is explained on Tracing a version.

What it is not for

  • writing courses, manuscript critiques or ghostwriting;
  • tarot, astrology, spiritual or ritual advice;

  • arguments about which country a tale belongs to.

Messages on these subjects will not be taken up.
